Slack conversations, live

Talking to agents in Slack now feels live: replies stream in as they are written, and questions become forms you answer in place.

New

  • Replies stream into the thread while the agent works, with a native Stop control.
  • Agent questions arrive as Slack forms — pick an option, add a note, submit, and the session resumes.
  • Approvals can be granted or denied right from the notice in the thread.
  • Direct messages become titled threads, and the app's Home tab shows which organization it serves.
  • Playbooks apply in channel conversations too.

Refined

  • Links agents write render properly in Slack.

Agents that remember

Agents now remember. What they learn in one session carries into the next — and you can see the memory itself.

New

  • Agents build durable memory from their sessions automatically.
  • A Memory page shows what your organization's agents know, including a graph view of how it connects.
  • Memory settings control what is kept; it is on by default for Pro organizations and above.

Your apps can charge their users

Apps can now declare billing as a capability: subscription plans and prepaid credits for your users, through your own Stripe account.

New

  • Define plans and credit packs in your app's configuration.
  • A credits ledger tracks balances and usage per user.
  • Connect your own Stripe account; checkout and webhooks are wired for you.
  • Manage it all from the SDK and CLI.

Integrations for your apps

Apps can now declare the third-party services they use as a first-class capability, with credentials handled by the platform.

New

  • Add integrations to your app's configuration and they are provisioned end to end — runtime, SDK, and CLI.
  • An Integrations tab on the app dashboard shows each connection's status; activity lives with your app's logs.
  • Your app's server code can verify the signed-in user with short-lived signed session proofs.
  • The AI Gateway panel now shows real usage summaries and a request log.
  • Available on Starter plans and above.

Guardrails for what agents may do

Organizations on Pro and above can now govern their agents: policies over tools, approvals for sensitive actions, and a record of every decision.

New

  • Set organization-wide tool policies, down to individual connectors.
  • Sensitive actions can require approval, and holds reach you where you are — including Slack.
  • Every session keeps a governance record, available through the public API.
  • The governance console signs in with your Studio account.

Meet your agents in Slack and GitHub

Agents now meet you where work happens. Connect Slack and GitHub, and talk to them without opening Studio.

New

  • Install the Slack app, mention an agent, and the conversation continues in the thread.
  • The GitHub app responds on pull requests and issues, and can check out the PR and work on it.
  • A claim link ties your Slack or GitHub identity to your Orbital account the first time you write.
  • Manage connected channels from Settings → Channels.

Refined

  • Cloud workers keep their agent tooling up to date automatically.

A public API and an agents SDK

Orbital opens up to your own software: organization API keys, a public API, and an SDK for sending work to agents.

New

  • Create organization API keys with scopes, and manage them with the orbital api-keys commands.
  • Send work to agents through the public API — wait for the outcome, or hand it off and move on.
  • The @orbital/agents SDK wraps the API for TypeScript projects.

Orbital Auto picks the model

A new Auto option chooses the model for each piece of work, matching lighter and heavier models to the task at hand.

New

  • Choose Orbital Auto in the model picker and routing is handled per task.
  • Task classification runs automatically by default — no setup required.
